I have no idea where it all started but it has been brewing inside my head for quite sometime now. The cinematography bug bit me and it bit me hard. I have watched tonnes of movies and if I love the colors of one, I love the camera angles of another. Either way, it has become a part of my DNA to watch a movie for both what the director expects me to see and guess what the cinematographer is doing. How is the camera moving? Where did he put the lights to create the sunlight effect? F***, where is the camera, there is supposed to be a wall here? Well, its no myth that beauty is inspiring and to create something beautiful is more than a challenge. And ya, the challenge has managed to tickle my enthusiasm. I wanted to shoot something of my own, but it looked like too much of work and I didn’t even have a good camera. So, I was just waiting for an opportunity.
Then apparently out of nowhere, KK, a drams stalwart of the hall came back to KGP saying he is going to shoot a video and he was dead serious about it. Wow, its like a dream come true for me. Someone with that amount of passion shooting so close to me. I could get so much hands-on experience from the mistakes we make. So, I tagged along and used to drop in whenever there was a shoot. It was absolute fun. Sarkar wrote an amazing script and its a real pleasure working with the movie genius. Kushal the first year guy deserves an honorary mention for his action. I was worried he was actually getting hurt in an action scene. Today, we finished the shoot after a lot of hiccups. Hope the video turns out great after the editing and the dubbing.
Most of all, I love the fact that I took my first baby step in this direction. Now that I have some experience on my back, I hope to watch movies with a more experienced eye.
Cheers to baby steps !!!
P.S. : Feel free to drop in movie suggestions
